Rate index
The rate index consists of restriction fields, shown directly below the rate header.
| |
---|
A | Entries in the restriction fields determine the conditions under which the rate is to be applied. |
B | The Type field is located above rate index. It is used to classify a rate as primary (line haul), secondary (accessorial that is linked to a primary rate), line item (accessorial that is applied on an “as needed” basis) or linked line item (accessorial that is applied on an “as needed” basis and is linked to a primary rate). |
If needed, you can define multiple indexes for the same billing rate. For example, two indexes exist for this rate. The indicator identifies the total number of indexes, as well as which indicator is in view.
Multiple indexes are useful when more than one restriction set have the same billing rates. Because the indexes can be recorded on a single rate schedule, the rates only need to be entered once, which saves data entry time.
