Specifying which primary rates stay linked to an adjusted secondary rate
On occasion, you may need to adjust a secondary rate to which one or more primary rates are linked. In the Rate Schedules application, two rate adjustment windows exist that allow you to adjust rates.
Adjust Schedule Rates
The Adjust Schedule Rates window allows you to adjust a single rate. To access it, open the desired rate. Then select Edit > Adjust Rates by Factor > This Table. The Adjust Schedule Rates window is shown below:
Group Adjust Schedule Rates
The Group Adjust Schedule Rates window allows you to adjust a group of rates. To access it, open the desired rate. Then select Edit > Adjust Rates by Factor > Group of Tables. The Group Adjust Schedule Rates window is shown below:
When either of these adjustment windows is used to adjust amounts for billing rates, the feature makes adjustments by copying the existing rate, and then applying the adjustments to the copied rate.
Because you may not want to link all the primary rates to the adjusted rate, a dialog box allows you to specify which rates are linked to the adjusted rate. The Attach New Accessorial Rates to Primary Rate dialog box displays the primary rates linked to the original secondary rate. By default, all the rates are selected.
Clear the check box for all primary rates that should not have the adjusted rate attached.
Note: The Attach New Accessorial Rates to Primary Rate dialog box is available only when you are adjusting secondary rates. It is not available for line item or linked line item billing rates.
