Flat rates, minimums, and maximums for charge-based and quantity-based rate schedules
The charge types used for primary and secondary rates are often set up to calculate charges based on some kind of quantity:
Mileage
Weight
Count
Volume
Percent of revenue (for accessorials)
For a quantity-based rate schedule, you can set up the following:
Item
Where it can be entered
Flat rate
Specific cells
Minimum charge
Rate schedule as a whole
Specific cells
Minimum quantity
Rate schedule as a whole
Specific cells
Maximum charge
Specific cells within the last column in a rate table
Specific cells within the last row in a rate table
Flat rates, minimums, and maximums are supported for primary, secondary, line item, and linked line item rate schedules. They can be applied to orders that are flagged as Rate by Total or Rate by Detail.
Note: By default, the system will not apply minimum charges, minimum quantities, or maximum charges that have been recorded in cells within a rate table. To turn on the feature, see Activating cell-based minimums and maximums.
