There may be times when you want a certain accessorial pay to be based on a resource's total pay (line haul pay plus other accessorial pay). The TotalPay unit basis allows the system to calculate this kind of secondary pay automatically when the order is rated in Settlements, or in the Pay Detail Maintenance window in Order Entry, Dispatch, and Invoicing.

When you create the pay type, the Basis is Ancillary and the Unit Basis is TotalPay.

1. The TotalPay unit basis is applicable only to accessorial pay types. It is not supported for primary pay types.

2. The TotalPay unit basis is always a percentage of total pay.

3. Only one secondary rate that is based on a pay type with the TotalPay unit basis can be linked to a primary rate.

4. A pay type with the TotalPay unit basis cannot be used on a secondary rate that has a table.
