Basing pay rates on event types
Basing pay rates on event types
You have the ability to pay resources according to the types of events that occurred during a trip. Event-based rating can be used for both primary and secondary rates.
When the feature is used, this sequence of events occurs during the rating process:
1. The system compares the primary events (Live Load and Live Unload, for example) on the trip with the event types specified on the rate.
2. If there is a match, the system counts the number of times the matching event occurred on the trip.
3. It multiplies that number by the rate recorded on the rate schedule.
4. It adds a pay detail for that amount to the resource’s pay record.
To accommodate the event based-rating feature, the Settlement Item Maintenance window provides these options, which are used to set up pay types:
Event added as an option for the Unit Basis field
Event added as an option for the Unit field
$/Event added as an option for the Rate Unit field
In addition, the Edit Settlement Rate Schedule Folder offers these options:
Event field in to the index.
Event as a Row/Column selection.
Event Type as a Row/Column selection.
