By default, when a flat pay rate is used to calculate pay for a split trip, the system does not automatically prorate the flat pay. Instead, each payable resource is paid the entire flat pay rate.

However, the system can be set up to allocate the pay between the assigned resources based on the percentage of loaded miles traveled by each resource. This allocation feature can be used with primary, secondary and line item rates. Empty miles are not used in the calculations. This feature is supported for all resource types.
