Setting up primary pay rates for empty miles not associated with an order
To reposition equipment, there are times when drivers must make deadhead moves not associated with an order. To ensure that drivers get paid for such trips, you must set up a primary empty rate. You must do this even if drivers get paid the same rate for empty and loaded miles.
Note: If you have teams, you must have two empty primary rates: One for solo trips and another for team trips.

Here is an example of how a rate header and index might be set up for a primary pay rate for empty solo miles.

Note: Be sure that the Type field is set to Primary.

The rate table looks like this.
