DirectRoute Release Notes 26.1 (Mar '26)

DirectRoute 26.1 General Release is now available to all customers on Client Center. This major update introduces a modernized "Single Search" geocoding experience, enhanced visual customization for your routing workspace, and logic improvements for both ResourcePro and DirectRoute.

Highlights of What’s New

  • Next-Gen Geocoding

  • Enhanced Workspace Customization

  • Smarter ResourcePro Scheduling

  • Advanced Load Logic

  • Modernized User Interface

New Features & Enhancements

Suite-Wide Enhancements

  • Single Search Geocoding: Enjoy a modernized geocoding experience with our move to the Trimble ‘Single Search’ API. This simplifies address lookups, improves accuracy, and enables reverse geocoding by Name using the POI database.

  • Searchable Preferences: Finding settings is now easier than ever with the addition of a Search Bar directly within the Preferences menu.

  • Modern File Defaults: To align with modern data standards, the default stop and shipment file format has been updated to .XLSX.

  • Refined Geocoding UI: The Geocode by Address feature and interface have been redesigned to stay in sync with the new Single Search connection and provide a smoother user experience.

DirectRoute

  • Customizable Fonts: You can now edit the font styles used in both the Info Boxes, while in Routing Mode, and the left-most portion of the RouteBook Route Listing.

  • Minimum Mileage Logic: The Load algorithm now understands "minimum mileage" requirements for route creation, giving you more flexibility when optimization isn’t the primary goal.

ResourcePro

  • Cyclical Conflict Detection: ResourcePro now identifies and prevents cyclical scheduling errors. Specifically, it resolves conflicts that occur when a schedule spans from the end of the modeled week into the beginning of the following week, even if that subsequent week is not explicitly defined in the model.

Important Fixes

DirectRoute

  • Time Zone Accuracy: Resolved an issue where time zones were missing in the RouteBook Arrival/Departure local time fields.

  • Cost & Info Grid Display: Fixed a display issue where LTL Costs were not appearing in the Route Book or Stop Info grid.

  • Geocoding Reliability: Corrected the "Fallback by Zip" option and resolved "400 Bad Request" errors occurring in specific regions.

  • Speed & Performance: Users can now successfully increase average route travel speeds to 70mph on freeways.

  • Visual Correctness: Fixed instances where unloaded stops were not correctly displaying as red, and updated various icons and formatting issues within the RouteBook.

  • Stability: Resolved an "unhandled exception" error that occurred when using the Zoom to Stop icon (i.e., the magnifying glass).

ResourcePro

  • Streamlined Scheduling Parameters: We’ve researched and removed obsolete scheduling parameters to declutter the interface and improve usability.

  • Data Integrity: Fixed an issue where inserting an empty line on the Trailer tab would cause an application exception.

  • Licensing Guardrails: Corrected behavior where certain features, like ‘Lock Start Time/Day’, were erroneously enabled for unlicensed users.

  • Sorting & Prioritization: Resolved a sorting error that occurred when using the option to ‘Prioritize Layover Routes’.

TransportationModeler

  • Interface Consistency: Removed the ‘Display Geocode’ dropdown to match the new streamlined interface of DirectRoute.

  • Printing Accuracy: Fixed an issue where the ‘Show Input Files’ option was displaying the wrong files during printing.

TerritoryPro

  • Summary Updates: Fixed an issue where the stop selection column in the Territory Summary was not updating correctly.

Research for Future Functionality

We are currently researching ways to implement goal seeking and new methods for entering driver and power unit goals within ResourcePro. Ways to significantly speed up map rendering and the ‘View Reason’ or ‘View Alternates’ utilities for projects exceeding 10,000 stops are also currently under task by our developer engineers.

We are committed to providing the most efficient routing and scheduling tools in the industry. Thank you for your continued support and feedback!
