How parent/child relationships affect the Company tree
In CRM Right, a sub company of a parent company is called a child. To associate the parent with the sub company, in the sub company's profile the parent's ID must be recorded in the Div of Parent field. On the company tree, Parent/child relationships
To show how parent/child relationships are illustrated on the Company tree, we used two companies in this example and changed the Bill To/parent settings.

Neither company has a parent/child relationship with any other company.
Impala Industries is marked as both a Parent and a Bill To. This is evident because it is shown on the second level beneath itself.
Empire Products does not have a parent/child relationship with any company.
Empire Products is a child of Impala Industries.
Impala Industries is a Parent, but is not marked as a Bill To. This is evident because it is not shown on the second level beneath itself.
Note: The system allows you to flag a company as both a Bill To and a parent (as well as shipper, consignee, etc). This is because it is possible for a company to serve as a parent for other companies, and as a Bill To for itself.
