Setting up volume-based rates with Min/Max Volume
You set up two primary rates, one for the minimum volume quantity, and one for the maximum volume quantity. The rates must use the same volume-based charge type.
This illustration shows a primary billing rate for the maximum volume. Note the volume-based entries:
Type is Primary (Linehaul)
Charge type is Freight (Volume)
Chrg Unit is Gallons
Rate Unit is $/Gallon
Fgt Class is Oil
The $/gallon rate is recorded in the Rate field.
The maximum total loaded volume is recorded in the Max Volume field.
In this illustration, Rate 1248 is set up to apply a .70 per gallon rate to orders with a combined maximum, loaded volume of 5,000 gallons or less.
This illustration of rate #1249 shows the only differences between our minimum and maximum loaded volume rates are the values in the Rate field and the recording of a minimum value. This rate is set up to apply a .80 per gallon rate to orders with a combined minimum, loaded volume of 5,001 gallons or more.
