Applying a volume-based rate to an order
When the system applies a volume-based rate to an order, it combines the total loaded volume of all commodities belonging to the same volume-based commodity class.
In this illustration, order #8005 has three live loads at the shipper OILTUL for the commodities G87, G90, and G93. All three commodities belong to the Oil commodity class.
Total loaded volume is 8,200 gallons
Total delivered volume is 4,600 gallons
When we rate order #8005 in Invoicing, the system compares the total loaded volume to the quantities recorded in the Min/Max Volume fields for rates #1248 and #1249. Because the combined volume was more than the required minimum volume of 5,001 gallons, the system applies rate #1249.
