Creating a pay rate with a minimum amount for route pay
Use the Min Pay field to set the minimum amount for route pay on a trip. With this option, the system looks only at the route pay amount when determining if the minimum needs to be applied.
This illustration shows a primary rate with a minimum route pay amount.
Note: Although the route pay minimum is recorded on the primary loaded miles rate, the system adds pay details for all legs on a trip—empty and loaded—to determine whether the minimum should be applied.
The system uses the following process when it evaluates route pay:
1. The pay detail amounts for route pay are totaled.
2. The total route pay on the trip is compared to the amount recorded in the Min Pay field in the rate header.
3. If the trip’s route pay is less than the minimum, the system creates a line item to make up the difference. The Description field displays Adjustment to Min. Primary Pay.
