Creating a pay rate with more than one minimum
This illustration shows a primary rate with minimums set for Total Minimum Route pay, Total Minimum Accessorial Pay, and Total Trip Minimum Pay:
The system uses the following process when it applies all three minimum pay options:
1. The pay detail amounts for accessorial pay are totaled.
2. The total accessorial pay on the trip is compared to the amount recorded in the Min Acc field in the rate header.
3. If the trip’s accessorial pay is less than the minimum, a line item to make up the difference is created.
4. The pay detail amounts for route pay are totaled.
5. The total route pay on the trip is compared to the amount recorded in the Min Pay field in the rate header.
6. If the trip’s route pay is less than the minimum, a line item to make up the difference is created.
7. After adjusting the accessorial pay and the route pay, all pay details are totaled. That totals compared to the amount recorded in the Trip Min field in the rate header.
8. If the trip’s total pay is less than the minimum, a line item to make up the difference is created.
