How split trips are handled when a trip has only loaded events
There are times when you need to split a trip for logistical reasons. When the system rates the trip, it subtracts time for non-billable events from the total trip time, and then bills for the remaining time. The number of hours calculated for non-billable time reflects the calculation method you selected.
Note: The system will subtract time only for non-billable events added to a trip by means of the split trip feature. Subtraction of time for a split trip with only loaded events is supported for the ARPLD and DPARLD time calculation methods.
First arrival to final departure (ARPLD)
The system calculates non-billable time from the arrival at the Drop Loaded Trailer (DLT) event to the departure of the Hook Loaded Trailer (HLT) event.
This table shows how the system calculates time for the trip.

Total trip time | 14 hours, 55 minutes | 14.92 |
(Non-billable time) | (48 minutes) | (00.80) |
Billed time | 14 hours, 7 minutes | 14.12 |
First departure to final arrival (DPARLD)
The system calculates non-billable time from the departure from the Drop Loaded Trailer (DLT) event to the arrival at the Hook Loaded Trailer (HLT) event.
This table shows how the system calculates billed time for the trip.
