For a rate schedule with a charge type that is based on miles, weight, volume, count, or revenue, your customer contract may specify a flat rate for a particular origin location, point-to point, weight/Bill To combination, volume/commodity combination, or other conditions represented by a row, a column, or a row/column combination in the rate table.

To handle flat rate exceptions, you can create a single rate schedule that mixes flat rates with non-flat rates. You can record flat rates for individual cells within a row or column.
