How minimum quantities are applied
This illustration shows a primary rate with a minimum quantity. The charge type indicates that the billed amount is based on number of miles. If the quantity used to calculate the charge is less than the minimum quantity of 150, the system substitutes 150 for the actual number of miles.
Minimum quantity for mileage-based primary rate
This illustration shows an accessorial rate, which also is based on miles and has a minimum of 150 miles.
Minimum quantity for mileage-based secondary rate
Note: In these examples, the minimum quantity has been recorded in the rate header. However, minimums also can be set up for individual cells, rows, or columns in a rate table. Regardless of which setup you use, minimum charges are applied the same way during the rating process.

The following illustrations show how the minimum quantities for primary and secondary mileage based rates (pictured above) are applied in Order Entry, Dispatch, and Invoicing.
In Order Entry
In Dispatch
In Invoicing
In Invoicing you can retrieve an order that has been pre-rated in Order Entry or Dispatch, or you can use Invoicing to calculate charges for an order. In either case, charges for minimum quantities are applied as shown here:
