Setting up separate stop pay rates for pickups and drops
When using $/Stop rates or rates based on flat amounts for stop pay, the system does not differentiate between pickup stops and drop stops when it counts the number of stops on a trip for stop pay.
However, you can create separate pay rates for pickup stops and for drop stops by basing the rate on a pay type that has a Unit Basis of either Pickup Stops or Drop Stops.
When using this method, you must use the incremental rating feature to specify the number of free stops for each rate. This means you can set up a different number of free stops for pickups than you do for drops.
This feature does not use any of the INI settings associated with the stop pay features. This is important because, it means you can use stop pay rates that differentiate between pickup and drop stops for some resources, and for other resources you can use $/Stop rates or Flat rates.
The set up consists of creating:
Pay types for pickup stops and drop stops.
Secondary pay rates for pickup stops and drop stops.
