Making pay-related entries in resource profiles
The master files for resources contain pay-related fields that must be set to the appropriate values for the pay rates you plan to set up. To make the necessary changes to a resource profile, or to create a new one, access the File Maintenance application. Refer to the TMWSuite File Maintenance User Guide for detailed instructions. The following subtopics list the pay-related fields for each resource type.
Driver
DrvType1 – DrvType4
These fields are found in the Types section of the Driver File Maintenance screen. Your company may have changed the field names to make them more appropriate to the way it does business. The options for each of these fields are user-defined. Other notes:
In Rate Schedules, they can be used as restriction criteria in a rate index; also, Driver Types are available as row/column selections if a table of rates is desired.
In Settlements, they can be used to mass assign drivers having the same Driver Type classification to a particular pay rate and/or to standing deductions.
In lookup queues within Settlements, they can be used to narrow down the number of trips retrieved in a queue.
Accounting Type, located in the Accounting section of the screen.
There are three options:
Payroll: used for company drivers
Accts Payable: used if the driver is an owner/operator and you plan to pay owner/operators as drivers rather than as tractors.
Note: If the driver is an owner/operator, you should also set up a Pay To profile for him.
None: used when an entity is never paid directly, such as a driver who works for an owner/operator
Pay To
If the driver drives for an owner/operator or a carrier, use the Pay To field to identify the owner/operator or carrier.
SSN
For company drivers, enter the driver’s social security number.
Company, Fleet, Division, and Terminal
On the Driver File Maintenance screen, the fields are located in the Placement section. The options for each of these fields are user-defined. Other notes:
In Settlements, these labels can be used to mass assign drivers having the same classification to a particular pay rate and/or to standing deductions.
In lookup queues within Settlements, they can be used to narrow down the number of trips retrieved in a queue.
Warning: The Company, Fleet, and Division labels are not available in Rate Schedules, either as restriction criteria in a rate index, or as row/column selections for use in a rate table. This means that you cannot base pay rates on them when you set up rates in the Rate Schedules application. The Terminal label is available as an index restriction, so it can be used as a criterion to pull a rate. However, it is not a row/column selection, and therefore cannot be used for rate tables.
Tractor
TrcType1 – TrcType4
These fields are found in the Classifications section of the Tractor File Maintenance screen. Your company may have changed the field names to make them more appropriate to the way it does business. The options for each of these fields are user-defined. Other notes:
In Rate Schedules, they can be used as restriction criteria in a rate index; also, Tractor Types are available as row/column selections if a table of rates is desired.
In Settlements, they can be used to mass assign tractors having the same Tractor Type classification to a particular pay rate and/or to standing deductions
In lookup queues within Settlements, they can be used to narrow down the number of trips retrieved in a queue.
Accounting Type, located in the top section of the screen
There are three options:
Payroll: not applicable for tractors
Accts Payable: used when the tractor belongs to an owner/operator and you plan to pay owner/operators as tractors rather than drivers
None: used when an entity is never paid directly, such as a company-owned tractor
Pay To
A Pay To profile must be established for each owner/operator or carrier. Use the Pay To field to identify the owner/operator or carrier.

Trailer
TrlType1 – TrlType4
These fields are found in the Classifications section of the Trailer File Maintenance screen. Your company may have changed the field names to make them more appropriate to the way it does business. The options for each of these fields are user-defined. Other notes:
In Rate Schedules, they can be used as restriction criteria in a rate index; also, Trailer Types are available as row/column selections if a table of rates is desired.
In Settlements, they can be used to mass assign trailers having the same Trailer Type classification to a particular pay rate and/or to standing deductions
