Using the Index Settings tab to specify values
that apply to all indexes
The Index Settings tab displays the Avg. Fuel Price Table field. If you have selected a $/mile line haul pay type, it also displays the Miles to use field.
Details regarding the functions of these fields are provided in other sections of this documentation. Here are brief descriptions.
Avg Fuel Price Table | This field is applicable if you have set up a fuel surcharge rate that is based on average daily fuel prices. It specifies the Average Fuel Price table that is to be used when the rate is applied. Average Fuel Price tables are established in File Maintenance |
Miles to use | For line haul pay that is based on $/mile, you can select the mileage interface that is to be used to determine the mileage quantity used to calculate pay. For more information, see Specifying a mileage interface in a rate schedule. |
Unlike the restrictions entered on the Index tab, an entry on the Index Settings tab of the Edit Settlement Rate Schedule Folder is not a restriction. In other words, the Index Settings tab is not used to determine whether the rate is a good match for a trip. Instead, it comes into play after a rate has been selected. If the trip matches the Index tab restrictions, the system will check to see if an entry has been made on the Index Settings tab.
The values on the Index Setting tab apply to all of the rate’s indexes.
