SMTP Deprecation: Action Required for Some TMS/TMT Users

SMTP Deprecation: Action Required for Some TMS/TMT Users

Microsoft is phasing out Basic Authentication for Client Submission (SMTP AUTH) in Exchange Online. According to this official announcement, Microsoft will disable SMTP AUTH by the end of December 2026, and remove it for all customers by the second half of 2027.

These changes will affect certain Suite, TruckMate, Innovative, and TMT on-prem customers, and some TruckMate SaaS customers who use Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) to send emails from Trimble Transportation applications. To ensure uninterrupted email service, you will need to review the remediation guides below and take action to ensure continued email functionality. Remediations range from changing SMTP providers to upgrading your system. Due to the extensive changes needed in the application to accommodate these changes being made by Microsoft, it will not be possible to patch some older versions of the solution.

Remediation Instructions:

  • TruckMate
  • Innovative (PDF)
  • TMT
  • TMW Suite:

    • Fuel Dispatch
    • Inventory Services
    • TMW Operations
    • TMWSuite
