To define a rate table by furthest distance and by commodity, you must assign the commodity to a freight class in the commodity profile in File Maintenance. Record the freight class value in the Fgt Class field.

When you set up a Furthest Distance rate table for the commodity, you define the rows or columns by Commodity Class.
