Step 2: Configure fleet settings

After adding assets, you must configure your fleet’s CoPilot settings.

Fleet-level settings ensure consistent CoPilot configurations across all vehicles or specific groups, eliminating the need to enter settings individually on each device.

Most Important Setting

Vehicle Routing Profiles are critical to ensure CoPilot provides your drivers with safe, efficient, and legal routes that comply with legal truck restrictions and physical constraints such as low bridges and sharp turns based on vehicle size.

In the Configure Fleet Settings screen in Account Manager, you create CoPilot settings and assign them to vehicle or driver groups. Follow these steps:

  1. Create groups of vehicles or drivers running CoPilot. You may want to create a single group or multiple groups based on vehicle type, business unit, location, or other criteria as needed.

  2. Create and assign Vehicle Routing Profiles to groups. These profiles contain the settings that control how CoPilot generates routes based on the vehicle size and type and operational preferences.

  3. Create and assign Configuration Profiles to vehicle groups. These profiles control driver compliance monitoring (with RouteReporter licensing) and restrict driver modifications to CoPilot app settings.

Working with ContentTools

Custom content created in ContentTools (covered in Step 6) provides additional customization options, and can also be assigned to vehicle groups in Configure Fleet Settings. You can:
