Finding a specific company record in the Search field
The Search field is a tool that you can use to find a specific company profile, or a list of company records that meet search criteria. It is located under the Company tree:
To locate information about a company, enter one or more of the beginning characters of the company's name. The more letters you enter, the more precise the lookup will be. Then press the ENTER key.
Note: The characters you enter must be the initial letters of the company's name. You cannot use wildcards with the Search field.

Below the Search field, the system lists records alphabetically for the companies with names that match your entry.

The list provides basic information:
Company name
Address lines 1 and 2
City, state/province, and ZIP/postal code.
On the Company tab to the right, the system automatically displays the profile of the first company in the list. When you click on a different company record under the Search field, the Company tab switches to that profile.

If the company belongs to the booking terminal or CSR shown in the Company tree immediately above the Search field, one of the following occurs:
If the node for the company's CRM Type is collapsed in the Company tree, the node opens so that you can see the company under it. The company's name is highlighted.
If the node for the company's CRM Type is already expanded in the Company tree, the company's name is highlighted.
If the company does not belong to the booking terminal or CSR selected in the Company tree, the system adds a Search Results category to the bottom of the Company tree. Under that category, it displays the company's name. Each time you use the Search field retrieval to look up a company that does not belong to the selected booking terminal/CSR, it adds the company's name under the Search Results category. It maintains this search history until you select a different Booking Terminal, or exit CRM.

Notes:
1. The Search Results category is meant only as a search history. If you click on a company in that list, the system will not display its profile on the Company tab. To see the profile, enter the company's ID in the Search field.
2. If you want, you can remove the list of companies under the Search field by entering a character, such as a numeric value, that is never used as part of a company name. When you press ENTER, the list of companies is removed because no names match your entry.
