Company profile setup and maintenance
A company profile must exist for each entity with which your company does business, such as shippers, consignees, and companies responsible for payment of invoices. Proper profile setup and maintenance play a critical role in the successful use of CRMRight, TMWSuite, and any other TMW add-ons your business has purchased.
The following subsections describe:
• Company categorizations critical to the use of CRMRight.
• Toolbar buttons used in the creation and maintenance of companies.
• Minimum profile setup requirements.
• Configuration options regarding assignment of company IDs.
Optionally, you have the ability to create work profiles for companies with which your business has no formal relationships. You may want to do this for businesses, such as leads, that may never develop any ties with your business. Such companies are called “work companies.” Work profiles are needed because CSRs must record activities for them. However, setting them up as work companies allows you to keep them separate from Bill Tos, shippers, consignees, and other entities with which you do business. Profiles are saved to the Work Company table, which is separate from the Company table. If a work company solidifies a relationship with your business, it can be promoted to a company.
