Canadian Pacific - Kansas City Southern merger
The following summary explains how we have modeled the Canadian Pacific - Kansas City Southern merger in PC*Miler Rail v31.1.
PC*Miler Rail v31.1 product release guidelines:

Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) is the official name of this new Class 1 railroad company. The reporting mark is CPKC. The RRNum = 608. However, this is not the case in PC*Miler Rail.

For both Railinc Corporation & Trimble (PC*Miler Rail), the usage is still Canadian Pacific Railway (CPRS). The reporting mark is still CPRS. The RRNum is still 105.

Railinc Corporation has keyed all of the “new” merger stations and merger junctions to be identified as CPRS (not CPKC).

PC*Miler Rail has already activated these “new” merger stations and junctions to be identified as CPRS (not CPKC).

PC*Miler Rail has already designated Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCS) as an defunct Class 1 railroad company effective prior to the PC*Miler Rail v31.1 product release.

The Canadian Pacific - Kansas City Southern merger will not impact Kansas City Southern De Mexico (KCSM) per request by the Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) stakeholders. In PC*Miler Rail, please continue to use Kansas City Southern De Mexico (KCSM) to generate routes and generate maps in the software program.

Additional Notes:
We have modeled the first phase of the CPRS-KCS merger in our data for the PC*Miler Rail v31.1 product release as reported in the aforementioned comments. A future second phase will consist of CPKC and Railinc Corporation implementing the following elements:

Change the Reporting Mark from CPRS to CPKC.

Change the RRNum = 105 to RRNum = 608.

Replace all CPRS stations with new CPKC stations.

Replace all CPRS junctions with new CPKC junctions.
Important: Please be advised that there is currently no timetable for when the aforementioned second phase will be performed by CPKC and Railinc Corporation and/or when Trimble (PC*Miler Rail) will model these future data elements in our software program.
