Activating D2Link

The first time D2Link is opened on a new device, you must activate that device.

You can activate D2Link using a QR code.

If a QR code cannot be used or is not available, you can enter the required information manually.

  1. Normally, your company’s D2Link system administrator will complete these steps before giving you the device.

  2. The Trimble Privacy Policy is available via the About screen.

Activating with a QR code

  1. Open D2Link.
    The D2Link Activation screen opens.

    Note: Depending on your device, you may be prompted to allow the app to access the camera. You must tap Allow to activate D2Link.

  2. Tap Scan QR Code To Activate.
    The default camera app opens.

  3. Scan the QR Code.
    The D2Link Disclaimer screen opens.

    Note: Trimble Transportation supplies the QR code. If you do not have a QR Code, contact your company’s system administrator. If you are the system administrator, contact your company’s Support representative.

  4. Read the disclaimer and tap Accept.
    The Trimble Login screen opens.

  5. If needed, log in to the app.

Activating manually

  1. Open D2Link.
    The D2Link Activation screen opens.

  2. Tap Activate Manually.
    The Select Trimble Product pop-up window opens.

  3. Select the Trimble product you will use with D2Link.
    The Host Configuration screen opens.

    Compatible products include:

    • TMW.Suite

    • TruckMate

    • Trimble Maps

    • Trimble Oil and Gas

    ManualActivation HostConfiguration

  4. Make entries in the displayed fields, then tap Submit.

    The D2Link Disclaimer screen opens.

    Depending on the chosen product, different fields are shown.

    TMW.Suite or TruckMate

    Host URL

    The address of the D2Link Host

    Trimble Maps or Trimble Oil and Gas

    • Authorization URL
      The activation server to use for your D2Link installation:

      • Appian

      • GeoTrac

      • GeoTrac Demo

    • Account ID
      The account ID associated with D2Link on the activation server

    • Authorization Code
      The code required to activate D2Link.

  5. Read the disclaimer and tap Accept.

  6. If needed, log in to the app.

Logging in using Trimble Identity

You must first activate D2Link before you can log in using a Trimble Identity (TID) account.

A TID login is required for certain features, such as mobile imaging.

If you have trouble logging in, contact your company’s D2Link system administrator.

Logging in for the first time

To log in to the app, you must create a new TID account. You can do this within the app.

  1. With the app open, tap LOGIN WITH TRIMBLE.
    The Trimble Sign In screen opens.

  2. Tap Create an account.
    The Create Account screen opens.

  3. Enter your first name, last name, and a valid email address.

  4. Tap Send Code.
    Trimble Identity sends an email containing a verification code.

  5. Once you receive the code, enter it in the field on the Verify your identity screen. Tap Submit.
    The Account Preferences screen opens.

  6. Enter your account preferences for country, time zone, and language. You also have the option to enable multi-factor authentication.

  7. Tap Submit. If successful, a message appears.

    • It states that an account has been created.

    • It displays a Sign in link. Tap this link to continue using the app.

Logging in after you have created your TID account

  1. With the app open, tap LOGIN WITH TRIMBLE.
    The Trimble Sign In screen opens.

  2. In the Username field, enter your e-mail address. Tap Next.

  3. In the Password field, enter your password.

    Note: If your password does not meet the minimum requirements (see below), you will be prompted to change it. You can also change it by tapping Forgot password? and following the instructions on the screen that opens.

  4. Tap Sign in to continue using the app.

Minimum password requirements

Trimble Identity passwords must meet these minimum requirements:

  • At least 8 characters in length

  • At least one of each:

    • Lower-case letter

    • Upper-case letter

    • Number

    • Any of these special characters: !@#$%^&*+_-

If your password does not currently meet these requirements, you must update it.

  1. With the app open, tap LOGIN WITH TRIMBLE.
    The Trimble Sign In screen opens.

  2. Tap in the Username address field and enter your e-mail address. Tap Next.

  3. Tap Forgot password?.

  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
