About Enable Core Tracking
When you set the Enable Core Tracking
Application option to YES, the program turns on features that help you track cores throughout TMT Fleet Maintenance.
Accounting
On the Accounting page, Enable Core Tracking
adds the Core option to pages that include the Charge Category filter or column for orders. You open the Accounting page by going to Menu > Activities > Accounting > Accounting.
Orders
When you add a parent part to an order, the program automatically adds the core part too. The program shows a message in the bottom-left corner of the page to let you know. This feature applies to these orders:
-
Repair orders
-
Repair order templates
-
Purchase orders
-
Estimates
-
Shop Planner Manage Forms
-
Shop Scheduler Manage Forms
When the program adds a parent/core part combination to an order, the core part is shown beneath the parent in the Lines tab. You can expand or collapse the parent line to see or hide the core line, as shown in this illustration.
This feature applies to these forms:
-
Repair Order
-
Repair Order Template
-
Estimate
-
Estimate Template
-
Invoice
-
Purchase Order
-
Shop Planner Manage Forms
-
Shop Scheduler Forms
Part Category Codes
Setting the Enable Core Tracking
Application option to YES adds the Core option in System Setup Part Category Codes node. You can see this option by going to Menu > Setup > System Setup, going to the System section, and expanding the Part Category Codes node.
Part kits
Part kits are affected by the Enable Core Tracking
Application option in two ways. If you set the option to YES affects creating part kits two ways:
-
If you try to set the option to YES when you have one or more part kits that contain core parts, the program will stop you. You’ll see the error message "Core Tracking cannot be enabled until Core parts are removed from Kits." The message then lists where core parts are linked to kits so that you can remove them.
-
After you have set the option to YES, the program won’t let you add core parts to a kit. Instead, you’ll get the error message "Core tracking is enabled. Parts that track cores cannot be added to a Kit Config". This restriction applies to the Parts Catalog and Shop Inventory.
Parts transfer
If the Enable Core Tracking
Application option is set to YES, when you charge a parent part to Parts Transfer, the core part is also charged with a matching quantity. This is applicable for both immediate and in-transit transfers.
If the Parent and or Core part does not exist in the destination shop, then the program prompts you to add both to the destination shop. A message would be displayed while adding/deleting a Parent part.
