When TruETA plans trips, it generates suggested Rest Stops from one stop event to the next. Rest stops are locations where you can park and take a break or rest (including the 34-hour reset). TruETA determines the number rest stops and the distance between rest stops based on: your company’s setup, your Hours of Service, weather conditions, driving conditions, traffic, and other factors.

Suggested rest stops appear on the Trip Planning screen.

Rest stop examples

Examples include:

  • A rest stop along a freeway or turnpike

  • Travel center or travel plaza

  • Fueling stations designed for tractors and/or trailers

  • User-specific locations, such as a parking lot

You use the Trip Planning screen to:

  • View suggested rest stops

  • Add rest stops

  • Delete rest stops

  • Change a rest stop location or duration
