Before upgrading your production environment, Trimble recommends that you read the system requirements and install the latest version in a test environment. If you have questions, please contact your Trimble customer representative. |
Required update As of V. 2018.3, the Forecaster Console no longer uses Common Volumes to calculate order quantities. Now, it uses Trailer Compartments to maximize gallons and fit orders to specific trailer compartments. The V. 2018.3 update requires a simple setup process to forecast to trailer compartments. We have included a mass update tool in the ClientCenter download to ease this transition.

Requirements
-
TMWSuite®
You must be using TMWSuite V. 2018.3.0.0021 or later.
-
Microsoft® .NET Framework
Install or upgrade to the latest version of the Microsoft .NET Framework on your system. At a minimum, you should have V.4.6.2 installed.
The framework must be installed on the FuelTMS applications server, client, and administrator systems before you install FuelTMS. If it is not present, the system displays an advisory message during the installation. Install the framework before running the application.
-
Microsoft SQL Server®
Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later
-
You must be logged into the system where you want to install the FuelTMS applications, and have administrator rights for that system.
Like most applications, FuelTMS applications can be installed locally on a user’s system. It is also possible to install FuelTMS applications on a network drive. To do so, you must be logged into the system where the drive is physically located, and have administrator rights for that system.
-
SQL Server System Administrator rights are necessary.
The installation of FuelTMS applications includes the manual application of a SQL script to the TMWSuite database. You must have a SQL Server administrator login and password to apply it.
Enhancements
Performing preliminary setup
Fuel Setup application added (FS-200987)
From time to time, functionality added to Inventory Services will require new setup before it can be used in your production environment. To make the transition easier, the Fuel Setup application has been added.
For example, in this release, the Forecaster Console now uses trailer compartment configurations when calculating quantities on orders. This change added new tables for the compartment configurations used by the Forecaster. These tables must be populated before using the application. The Fuel Setup application provides access to the TrailerProfile window’s Compartment tabs (Go to Application > Trailer Compartment Setup). Entries on this tab provide the data for the new tables.

Degree Day Forecaster
Degree Day Forecaster
The Degree Day cloud-based forecaster provides the tools you need to accurately predict and deliver the right amount of fuel to your heating fuel customers. It combines data from weather forecasting services with the average burn rate for each tank to determine when and where more fuel will be needed.
You can set up access to third-party weather forecasting services that provide forecast data using the Degree Day Vendor Keys window.
You use the Location Setup window to set up and manage your customers.
Using the Degree Day Site Review window, you can:
-
View projected degree day readings and projected orders
-
Enter corrected degree day readings
-
View forecasted and historical temperature entries for each customer or location

Frequently used features
Zoom data grids with keyboard shortcuts (FS-200921)
With focus on a data grid, pressing CTRL+SPACEBAR makes the text smaller (zooms out) and SHIFT+SPACEBAR makes the text bigger. To restore default text size, close and reopen the main window. Previously, data-grid text was a fixed size.

Forecaster Console
Forecasting for specific trailer compartment configurations (FS-200759)
In previous versions, the Forecaster Console used Common Volumes to determine how much product to put on the orders it created. It also used them to determine the product mix on orders. If you have trailers with different configurations, the common volumes for Trailer A could be different from those for Trailer B. Dispatchers had to make adjustments when assigning loads to trailers.
Now, the Forecaster Console uses trailer compartments when calculating the gallons on forecasted orders. This allows it to create orders that maximize gallons and product mix to what will fit in a specific trailer.
You define a trailer’s compartments in its profile. From the Trailer Profile window, you can also:
-
Clone a trailer’s configuration to other trailers in your fleet.
-
Assign a trailer as the default trailer for one or multiple consignees.

Using readings to complete fuel stops and orders (FS-200823)
The Forecaster Console is used to create and update orders based on tank readings. Previously, the forecaster was able to find an order to be completed but did not change the status.
Now, the forecaster has a parameter to complete a Planned (PLN) or Dispatched (DSP) order based on tank readings. If an order and tank reading match, the order status updates to Completed (CMP). If no match is found, order statuses do not change.
