Introduction to Inventory Services
Inventory Services is TMW’s product monitoring application. Using Inventory Services, you can offer inventory tracking service to your customers, instead of meeting their needs strictly on demand.
You use Inventory Services to provide information to the Fuel TMS Forecaster module. To accomplish this, you need to track consumption patterns and use averages. Averages should be appropriate to outside factors, such as weather, holidays, etc.
Inventory Services allows you to:
-
Forecast at the commodity level.
-
Define the attributes that feed the model, so that you can have multiple models for each commodity.
-
Modify forecasts when relevant factors change.
To set up a store to be monitored by the Forecaster:
-
Define a commodity forecast profile for the commodity held in each of a store’s tanks.
-
Identify the rules that evaluate tank readings as acceptable or questionable.
-
Review tank readings for incorrect data entry or exceptional situations.
-
Accept and dispatch forecasted orders to augment the data available to the Forecaster.
Once the Forecaster has the data needed to project orders, you can review the projections and make adjustments as needed.
Inventory Services is a licensed module of the FuelTMS suite of applications. For more information, contact TMW Sales at (216) 831-6606. |
Forecaster license validation
Inventory Services is a licensed module of the FuelTMS suite of applications. The Inventory Services' forecaster function generates fuel orders automatically, based on a store’s fuel sales data, tank readings, and fuel delivery data.
Setting the forecaster to manage a store’s inventory requires licensing. You must have a license for every store you want to set as a forecasted site. The number of managed stores should not exceed the number of active licenses in your database.
When the active managed stores count exceeds the license count, the system issues a warning message that:
Starting with FuelTMS V. 15.10.16, TMW’s Store Inventory Count Pre-flight application (InvServLicenseCheck.exe) performs a license check prior to the installation of Fuel TMS.
