The Options > Time Zones window

Settings in the Time Zones folder determine the time zone and Daylight Saving Time settings of the TotalMail agent machine.

The label for the Time Zones folder in the folder list is bold if you select Localize viewer timezones in the content pane.

The following describes the settings available in the Time Zones folder’s content pane.

Localize viewer timezones

This allows you to specify the time zone of the TotalMail agent machine.

If this checkbox is not selected, the other fields in the content pane are not available. Also, the time zone and Daylight Saving Time settings for the TotalMail agent machine are determined by the machine’s regional settings.

To ensure the TotalMail agent machine time settings are correct, Trimble recommends that you select Localize viewer timezones and make the appropriate selections in the System TimeZone setting fields.

When this checkbox is selected, the label for the Time Zones folder in the folder list appears in bold type.

System TimeZone

Select the time zone for the TotalMail agent machine. The number shown before the letter designation is the number of hours the time zone differs from GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). Subtract or add the hours and minutes from GMT to get the time that you want.

For example, for the default DST:US/Canada in the right (second) menu, then the options in the left (first) menu are these standard time zones:

  • -3:30 NST Newfoundland

  • -4 AST Atlantic

  • -5 EST Eastern

  • -6 CST Central

  • -7 MST Mountain

  • -8 PST Pacific

System Daylight Saving Time setting

Use the field to the right of System TimeZone to specify how the TotalMail agent machine does, or does not, observe Daylight Saving Time.

Options:

  • No DST It does not observe Daylight Saving Time.

  • DST: US/Canada It observes the Daylight Saving Time rules for the United States and Canada.

  • DST: Europe It observes the Daylight Saving Time rules for Europe.

  • DST: Brazil It observes the Daylight Saving Time rules for Brazil.
