Truck Mobile Units

Mobile communications vendors cannot directly reference drivers or trucks by their TotalMail IDs. Vendors work exclusively with mobile communication unit (MCT) numbers, which can be linked to TotalMail drivers and trucks in the TotalMail 2000 Configuration utility.

Add or modify truck mobile units

To add a new truck MCT number or view an existing truck MCT number in the TotalMail system, select the Truck Mobile Units folder in the folder list of the TotalMail 2000 Configuration utility main window. Currently defined truck MCT numbers display in the resource area of the content pane.

To add a new truck MCT number, do one of these:

  1. Select New.

  2. Select Add Unit.

To modify an existing truck MCT number

  1. Select the MCT number in the resource area.

  2. Select Properties.

When you create a new truck MCT number or modify an existing truck MCT number, the Truck Mobile Communication Unit Properties window displays.

The Quick View folder is selected in the list by default. The content pane displays mobile communication vendors and trucks.

In the Unit ID field at the top of all folders in the Truck Mobile Communication Unit Properties window, enter a unique number for the MCT. You can enter up to 31 alphanumeric characters.
