Sign in and use passwords for the TotalMail 2000 Viewer application

New users must have a username and password. Contact your TotalMail® system administrator if you need help.
For security purposes, Trimble strongly recommends always using a password for your TotalMail system ID and not using the Remember Password feature or leaving the Password empty.

Sign in to the TotalMail 2000 Viewer application

  1. From the Windows Start menu, select TMW Systems Inc > Viewer.

  2. For User Name, enter your TotalMail login ID or select it from the list.

  3. In Password, enter the password for your TotalMail system ID.

  4. Important: Make sure that your company policy allows saving system passwords before completing this step. If you aren’t sure, then skip to the next step:

Select Remember Password. This saves your password to the system.

  5. Select the link and read the Trimble Privacy Policy.

  6. Do one of these:

    • Select OK to proceed.
      or

    • Select Cancel to exit.

If you can’t sign in, contact your TotalMail system administrator.

Change your password

Passwords are not case-sensitive. Your password can be up to twelve characters long. It can include letters, numbers, and these symbols: ! @ # $ % ^ &

  1. In TotalMail 2000 Viewer, select Tools > Change Password.

  2. On the password reset window:

    1. Enter your current password.

    2. Enter your new password.

    3. Enter your new password again to confirm it.

  3. Select OK.

Save your password in the system

This feature is convenient if you work alone or in a locked office. But, Trimble strongly advises you to not use this feature if you work in an area where others could access your computer.

When you enter your username and password, you have the option of selecting the Remember Password box. If you do that, your password is saved by the system. Then, each time that you sign in, the OK button is replaced by a numeric countdown. When the countdown reaches 0, the system signs you in using the saved password.

Delete a saved password

You stored your password, but now you want to enter it each time in the future. Good idea, that is much more secure. Do one of these to delete the stored password:

  • If you are not signed in: In the sign-in screen, clear the Remember password checkbox.

  • If you are signed in: select Tools > Clear Stored Password

Reminder: Make sure that your company policy allows you to save your password before you select the Remember Password box when signing in.
