Set up Core Tracking
A core is a used part that can be rebuilt. When a part such as an engine, transmission, or alternator is replaced, the old part is often returned to the supplier as a core. The supplier can then refurbish the core to make it usable again. This process helps reduce costs and waste by recycling parts.
You can also think of a core like a refundable deposit. When you buy a new part, you’re also charged for the core. When you return the old, used core part, you get a credit back. Core Tracking helps you keep up with these valuable used parts and their statuses.
This topic reviews the steps to set up Core Tracking.
