Enforcing your security setup

Before activating the Row Level Security (RLS) feature, also known as User Level Record Security, you must perform the required setup:

  • Assign RevType1 values to users in their profiles
    Note: Required if you plan to base security on RevType1 values.

  • Identify a user’s default RevType1 value
    Note: Required if you plan to base security on RevType1 values.

  • Identify the tables (records), and the fields in those tables, on which record security is based

  • Make users' security assignments, identifying the values required for them to retrieve records

  • Identify the field options a user can select.
    Note: You can use RLS without applying security to field options.

Once the setup is completed, you must activate RLS using the RowSecurity General Info Table setting.
