Enhancements

Brokerage

Displaying driver’s phone number in Advanced Carrier Selection (PTS-100501)

You record driver, tractor, and trailer information on the Board Assets tab in the profile of a board carrier.

Now, when that driver is assigned to a load, the driver’s phone number recorded on the Board Assets tab will display in the Advanced Carrier Selection window.

Continuous move capability support (PTS-96868)

A continuous move is a sequence trips assigned to a carrier to make better use of a particular set of resources.

The Planning Worksheet now supports continuous move capability with visibility of both board and non-board carrier information. When assigning a resource in the Advanced Carrier Selection window, you specify that the carrier wants another load (re-load) when this one is completed. The system will list that carrier (board or non-board) on the Planning Worksheet.

Manually expiring a carrier (PTS-100500)

Now, in the External Equipment window, you can manually set a carrier’s status to Expired (quick expiration), which will remove the carrier from the window. The system sets the expiration date to the date/time of the update.

Accessing Add/Edit Offer and Advanced Carrier Selection windows from External Equipment (PTS-96870)

Now, the Award and the Add/Edit Offer buttons are available in the External Equipment window. The Add/Edit Offer button launches the Add/Edit Offer window in which you can record details about the offer discussed with each carrier. The Award button launches the Advanced Carrier Selection window in which you assign the chosen carrier.

MacroPoint poller (NSUITE-200576)

An enhancement to the poller has been made to assist with MacroPoint Service failures due to bad files on the MacroPoint FTP.

Common dispatch features

Using extended assets for turnpike triples (PTS-87378)

In previous versions, the system allowed you to record two trailers on a trip. Now, the extended assets feature allows you to record up to eight pieces of equipment, such as trailers, chassis, containers, and dollies.

Unified Registration Numbers support (PTS-97311)

Unified Registration Numbers, required for Carrier CSA compliance, are now supported in TMW Operations.

EDI

Renaming of fields in the Edit Auto 214 On Hold window (PTS-101312)

To clarify the usage of this window, the following field names have been changed:

  • In the Filter section, the Company field was renamed Trading Partner.

  • In the grid section, the Bill To column was renamed Trading Partner.

Fuel Maintenance

Limiting fuel cards to a board carrier’s assets (PTS-100499)

You record a board carrier’s resources (driver, tractor, trailer) in its profile.

Now, you can set up the system so that fuel cards can be issued only to the resources recorded in the board carrier’s profile.

Load requirements

Working with special load requirements based on commodity count, weight, or size (PTS-88976, PTS-89899, PTS-94411)

Load requirements based on commodity count, weight, or size are a special type of commodity load requirement that can be applied to movements, not just orders. This is helpful when working with consolidated orders. When the system checks a load requirement against a trip, it combines the specified freight on all the orders, then determines whether the load requirement is met for the combined total.

You do not assign a static value to these count, weight, or size load requirements. Rather, the system dynamically calculates the count, weight, or size value based on the freight recorded on the movement to which the load requirement is applied.

Planning Worksheet

Using the Turnpike Double Edit window (PTS-92224)

The Turnpike Doubles feature allows for easier dispatch of turnpike doubles. Previously, in order to edit information for an already-created turnpike double trip, you had to open the individual leg in Trip Folder.

Now, the Turnpike Double Edit window enables you to edit one or more legs in a turnpike double trip. The window is available from the Turnpike Double Edit menu command. It also opens automatically when you double-click on a turnpike double trip in the Planning Worksheet. All five legs appear in the window. You can add or edit assets, times/locations, and order header information.

Shift-based dispatch

Order audit log added (PTS-97166)

An order audit log is now available from the Trip Planner.

Scroll records

Order Scroll (NSUITE-100610, PTS-100000, PTS-96869)

  • Now, you can use QuickDesigner to add the extended asset fields for trailers 3-8 in the Order scroll. Then you can use these fields for the search criteria.

  • Now, you can export order data to Excel from the Order scroll.

Tractor Scroll and Carrier Scroll (PTS-104702)

Now, you can assign resources (tractor or carrier) by dragging the resource’s ID from its scroll window to a trip in the Trip Folder.

Driver Scroll and Trailer Scroll (PTS-104702, PTS-93331)

  • Now, you can assign resources (driver or trailer) by dragging the resource’s ID from its scroll window to a trip in the Trip Folder.

  • Now, you can use the use the Show Map button to show the resource’s position on a map based on check calls.

TripAlert

TripAlert integrated into TMW Operations (PTS-93746)

TripAlert provides trip monitoring features that identify, in real-time, probable service failures and opportunities to improve efficiency. The user interface is highly graphical and utilizes map presentations for easy visualization and interaction by the user.

Previously, you monitored information in TMW Operations and TripAlert separately. You had to use the two applications side-by-side.

Now, TripAlert functions are built directly into TMW Operations, providing you with a seamless interface in a single product.

TripAlert is a licensed add-on feature.

Trip Folder

Automatically recording an unplanned deadhead (PTS-97721)

By default, when you are set up to prevent tractor beaming, the system will display an error message when you attempt to save a trip that requires a deadhead move to position the tractor. This forces you to exit the error screen, and manually add the begin empty before the trip can be manually started.

When this occurs now, an assignment window with key information populated from the trip will automatically display allowing you to add the empty move quickly.

Quantity Unit field added (PTS-95345)

The Quantity Unit field is added to the Stops tab and the Freight tab in the Trip Folder.
