Using keyboard shortcuts
There are many keyboard shortcuts in TMW Operations.
Using common Windows shortcuts
All versions of Microsoft® Windows® support a number of shortcut keys. Every effort has been made to make sure TMW Operations shortcuts do not interfere with the operation of these standard Windows shortcuts. The following is a partial list of these shortcuts that are useful in TMW Operations.
Copying and moving data
You can use the cut, copy, and paste commands to enter data in TMW Operations.

Copy - Copies the highlighted text to the clipboard Note: Previously, the CTRL+C shortcut key opened the Company Scroll window. |
CTRL+V |
Paste - Inserts the cut or copied text at the cursor’s position, if the cursor is in a field that accepts manual entry |

Cut - Removes the highlighted text and copies it to the clipboard |
Closing applications and accessing menus and menu options
These shortcuts allow you to perform mouse actions using just the keyboard.

DOWN ARROW |
In a menu, press this key to select the next menu option. When you reach the last menu option, pressing the down arrow highlights the first menu option. |
UP ARROW |
In a menu, press this key to select the previous menu option. When you reach the first menu option, pressing the up arrow highlights the last menu option. |
ALT |
Pressed by itself, the ALT key will select the menu or icon on the far left side of the menu bar (for most applications, this will be the File menu). After pressing the ALT key, you can select menus and commands in one of two ways:

Moving from one tab to another
Use these shortcuts when you have multiple primary tabs opened; for example, the Planning Worksheet window.

CTRL+TAB |
To switch from one primary tab to another, press and hold the CTRL key while you press either the TAB key or the F6 key. Continue to press the TAB or the F6 key until the desired tab is displayed. Notes:

Closes the application or the currently selected primary tab |
SHIFT+LEFT ARROW |
When a secondary tab is selected, use this shortcut to move to the next secondary tab to the left. Note: You can also use CTRL+LEFT ARROW to move to the next secondary tab. |
SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW |
When a secondary tab is selected, use this shortcut to move to the next secondary tab to the right. Note: You can also use CTRL+RIGHT ARROW to move to the next secondary tab. |
Working with the record currently in view
These shortcuts allow you to perform basic functions for the currently displayed record.

When you are in an application window of TMW Operations, you can also access the scroll window by placing the cursor in the master file record field and pressing CTRL+ALT+S. |
Adding and selecting master file records
Use these shortcuts to enter new master file records quickly.

When you add new master file records, changes are not immediately available. First, you must close and re-open TMW Operations. Or, you can update these lists in TMW Operations, by selecting Tools > Clear Cache > Label Files. |
Using the keyboard keys to enter dates and times
Use these shortcuts when the cursor is positioned in most date/time fields.
Most of the shortcuts below will not work if you use the numeric keypad. Unless otherwise indicated, you must use the keys located above the letter keys on the keyboard. |

Increases the displayed date by one day Note: You can use the PLUS SIGN key on either the keyboard or numeric keypad for this shortcut. |
MINUS SIGN |
If either the genesis (01/01/50) or apocalypse (12/31/49) date is displayed, pressing this key changes the date to the current system date. If any other date is displayed, pressing this key decreases the system date by one day. Note: You can use the MINUS SIGN key on either the keyboard or numeric keypad for this shortcut. |

CTRL+MINUS SIGN |
Displays the current system date and time Note: You must use the MINUS SIGN key on the keyboard. If you use the MINUS SIGN key on the keypad, this shortcut will decrease the hour field by one. |

Displays the current system date (today) Note: You must use the 0 key on the keyboard; this shortcut will not work if you use the 0 key on the keypad. |
CTRL+1 |
Displays tomorrow’s date (today + 1) Note: You must use the 1 key on the keyboard; this shortcut will not work if you use the 1 key on the keypad. |

Displays the day after tomorrow’s date (today + 2) NOTE: You must use the 2 key on the keyboard; this shortcut will not work if you use the 2 key on the keypad. |
CTRL+3 to CTRL+9 |
Displays a date x days from today (today + 3, today + 4, etc.) NOTE: You must use the 3 through 9 keys on the keyboard; these shortcuts will not work if you use the 3 through 9 keys on the keypad. |
CTRL+SHIFT+0 |
Displays yesterday’s date in some date fields NOTE: You must use the 0 key on the keyboard; this shortcut will not work if you use the 0 key on the keypad. |

Displays the day before yesterday’s date (yesterday - 1) |

Within a date/time field, moves the cursor from the time to the year, day, and month. |

Using the numeric keypad to enter dates and times
Use these shortcuts when the cursor is positioned in most date/time fields.
Most of the shortcuts below will not work if you use the PLUS SIGN and MINUS SIGN keys on the keyboard. Unless otherwise indicated, you must use the keys on the numeric keypad. |

Increases the minute field by one Note: You must use the PLUS SIGN key on the keypad; this shortcut will display the current date and time if you use the PLUS SIGN key on the keyboard. |
