Warnings
Social Security number encryption warning
Starting in version 2020.2, Social Security numbers you enter in the Driver profile are encrypted in the database by default.
However, you can set up the system so that the Social Security numbers you enter in the Driver profile are not encrypted in the database.
To do so, set the DataEncryption
General Info Table setting’s String1 field to N
.
The Data Conversion Administration Utility lets you encrypt/decrypt a group of Social Security numbers in your database. Contact your Professional Services representative to obtain the DataConversionAdministrationUtilityInstall.msi. Access and usage of The Data Conversion Administration Utility should only be provided to a system administrator. That utility provides access to all highly sensitive data and should only be used in the explicit instance of needing to encrypt or decrypt the driver profile. |
Cancel order/trip feature warning
Starting in version 2020.1, the user interface for the cancel order/trip functionality has changed. Several enhancements were made to make the process easier and more intuitive. Also, the same Cancel Trip/Order window is now used in both Order Entry and in the Trip Folder.
For more information, see Canceling an order in version 2020.1 and later.
User level record security
Starting with TMW Operations version 2019.1, there is a functional change that will affect customers using custom views on Company Planner, Brokerage, or Covering boards that rely on User Level Record Security. Affected customers may need to contact Support for assistance before upgrading. See the User level record security resolved issue for details.
Minimum technical requirements for 17.50 or higher warning
To upgrade from a build lower than 17.50 to 17.50 or higher, you must follow these steps.
-
Notify your Support team that you will upgrade. (As noted in Step 4, they will need to work with you to complete the installation process.)
-
Verify that your environment adheres to these minimum technical requirements:
-
Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.6.2 must be installed.
-
Trimble Transportation recommends testing the Microsoft .Net Framework upgrade in a test environment prior to upgrading in any production environments.
-
Use this link to Microsoft’s site for instructions on how to determine the .Net Framework version that you have installed.
-
-
Client operating systems must be at Windows 7 SP1 or higher.
-
Server operating systems must be at Windows Server 2012 or higher.
-
In addition, verify that your system adheres to the additional requirements listed in the General requirements section for the build you are upgrading to.
-
-
Run the TMW Operations installation program.
-
Before any users attempt to use TMW Operations, call your Support representative to have them update your Planning Worksheet boards.
Trimble Transportation has added columns to the system default Planning Worksheet views to enhance the inline editing feature. These columns also must be added to all custom views. Support will perform this step for you at no cost. |
Case sensitive passwords warning
Starting with V.17.50, the system treats all passwords as case sensitive. This includes existing passwords.
This change affects how you log in with an existing password:
-
If your password was created with
[Misc]CaseSensitivePasswords=OFF
in your TTS50, you must enter that password in all upper case characters. -
If your password was created with
[Misc]CaseSensitivePasswords=ON
in your TTS50, you can enter that password as you originally recorded it (case sensitive).

Enhancements
Average facility dwell times (TTESUITE-206443)
Dwell time is the total amount of time that a driver is at a facility. It includes time spent loading and unloading, as well as any slack or detention time.
With Trimble Places, you can view average dwell times for a particular facility in TMWSuite. You can use that information when scheduling trips in the Trip Folder.
This functionality first appeared in TMW Operations version 2023.2. The following features have been added for this version.
-
Performance has improved. Data loads faster and is validated more efficiently.
-
If you have enabled application telemetry, you can now view information (exceptions, metrics) about dwell time processing.
-
When you open the Trimble Places Configuration window, the fields are automatically editable. You no longer have to go to File > Open.
-
If an error occurs while retrieving average facility dwell times in the Company Profile window, a warning icon appears in the Average Facility Dwell Times section. Hovering your mouse over the icon displays error text as a tooltip.
Edit Schedule By Terminal window
Additional field (TTESUITE-205503)
You use the Edit Schedule By Terminal window to change the schedules of several drivers associated with the same terminal. An additional field Driver Domicile (mpp_domicile) has been added to the Retrieved records data grid in the window. The field is read-only and is available as a column in the grid and can be added or removed with Field Chooser. You can also right-click and select View Profile in the data grid to access the respective driver’s profile without leaving the window.
Shift Optimization window
Add TractorID and TrailerType to Shift Optimization field chooser (TTESUITE-206571)
Before, there was not an option to add a Tractor Id or Order Revenue Type to the data grids.
Now, the Tractor ID field is available in the following data grids:
-
Shift Assignments > Infeasibles
-
Infeasible Loads > Infeasibles
The Order Revenue Type 1-4 are available in the following data grids:
-
Shift Assignments > Recommended Assignments
-
Shift Assignments > Existing Assignments (requires a trip to be planned to the driver’s shift)
-
Shift Assignments > Unplanned Loads
-
Shift Assignments > Infeasible Loads
Note: These fields are available as options to add to the grids using the Field Chooser.
Updated time log functionality (TTESUITE-206668)
In TMW Operations, the Approve Time Log Details window now lets you:
-
Add and delete time log details manually
-
View messages from the time log provider
For more information, see Working with time log details in the TMW Back Office online help.
Resolved issues
Board Setup
-
TTESUITE-206036
When you selected the Cash Receipts Invoice Search Board Type and clicked the Edit button, an error would display.
Route Generation
-
TTESUITE-206945
When you created a new order, the StopCustomerPickupDate field would carry over from the Master Order, but the StopCustomerDeliveryDate field did not. Now, both fields will update accordingly.
Shift Optimization
-
TTESUITE-203124
The Shift Optimization Review window did not show the Total Miles column with Loaded/Empty Miles added together. This is displayed in the Shifts Assignments grid.
Trip Folder
-
TTESUITE-207155
An error occurred when attempting to read telemetry settings in the LTL Operations background service and in the Trip Folder.
Trimble Places
-
TTESUITE-206550
When creating a new company with a Trimble Place location that did not have a place ID, the system would try to create a custom Trimble Place first and then create a link between the created place and the new company. When this process failed, an error message appeared that was unclear. Now, when this happens, a clearer error message appears. It includes an HTTP status code that explains the reason for the failure.
