Creating diagnostic definitions
You use diagnostic definitions to develop diagnostics for routine maintenance tasks.
They are used:

As a list of diagnostics to appear on a printed repair order

As extended instructions attached to a job code.
To create a new diagnostic definition:

Go to Menu > Setup > Order Setup > Diagnostic Definitions.
For versions earlier than V. 2020.2, go to Menu > Setup > Repair Order Setup > Diagnostic Definitions.
The Diagnostic Definitions page opens. -
Click Add.
The Create New Diagnostic window opens. -
Enter the diagnostic definition name in the Description field.

Click Save.
The new diagnostic definition name is displayed in the Description field of the Diagnostic Definition page. -
If needed, select Definition.

Do one of the following to enter definition instructions:

Use Design mode

In the Diagnostic: Definition section, click the Design tab.

Using the Formatting Toolbar, apply the attributes to your text.

Note: If you use columns, select the Courier New font to keep the columns aligned.

Use HTML mode

In the Diagnostic: Definition section, click the HTML tab.

Use HTML coding and enter the instructions.

When you are finished, click Save.
To reset the Diagnostic: Definitions section, click Reset.
Editing diagnostic definitions
To edit an existing diagnostic definition:

Go to Menu > Setup > Order Setup > Diagnostic Definitions.
For versions earlier than V. 2020.2, go to Menu > Setup > Repair Order Setup > Diagnostic Definitions.
The Diagnostic Definitions page opens. -
In the Description field, enter the diagnostic definition’s name.
Note: You can use the search feature to find the diagnostic definition.

Make changes as needed.

When finished, click Save.
