Establishing company or PIN code relationships

In Fuel Dispatch, relationships are links between companies that affect the order entry process in Call On Demand Order Entry.

The system uses two types of relationships:

  • Company
Company relationships limit companies listed in Call On Demand Order Entry. Using company relationships speeds up data entry and reduces mistakes.

If you want, you can set up the system to create company relationships on the fly as you enter orders in Call On Demand Order Entry.

There are three levels of company relationship enforcement available:

    • None
By default, the system does not require relationships. When you are entering orders in Call On Demand Order Entry, any combination of Bill To, consignee, shipper, supplier, and Account Of companies is permitted.

    • Global
Global relationship enforcement allows you to enter orders without establishing relationships between consignees and Bill To companies. The relationships are required between Bill To, shipper, supplier, and Account Of companies.

    • Bill To
Bill To relationship enforcement requires that relationships between Bill To companies and consignees be established before you enter orders. For each Bill To/consignee pair, you link shipper, supplier, and Account of companies.

  • PIN Code
PIN code relationships ensure that the system auto-populates the correct PIN code(s) for the commodity(ies) recorded on orders in Call On Demand Order Entry.

Note: PIN codes are alphanumeric passwords used at a distribution terminal’s loading rack when loading a product, e.g., gasoline.

PIN codes can be based on:

PIN codes of both types are recorded in Bill To profiles. If you want, you can set up the system to create PIN codes on the fly as you enter orders in Call On Demand Order Entry.
