License Registration (License Key Entry)

The License Registration program is used to enter your license information for the TruckMate software package to activate features and enable users. If you are a new TruckMate Installation, included in the package is a license document (and a License File in the .LIC file format) that lists your Site Name, your Keys, and your Unit Types and numbers. If you purchase a license upgrade, a similar form and updated license file will be provided to you.
| When working with a new TruckMate Database, you must access the License Registration (License Key Entry) program with the ADMINISTRATOR user that is automatically generated by the Database Creation Wizard program. This is the only User that will be able to (initially) access this application. |

Using the License Registration program
With your TruckMate installation package or upgrade certificate, a license File (in the .LIC file format) was given to you by TruckMate systems implementation personnel.

Copy the license file to a file directory location the TruckMate program can access.

Go to Utilities > License Registration.

The License Key Entry window will be displayed as empty.

Click the
Open License File icon on the toolbar. -
Browse to find and select the TruckMate license file.

The License Key Entry window will be populated with the license Site name, Keys and associated license information.

Click the
Save License Keys icon on the toolbar.A confirmation message will be displayed if the license file is accepted.
If you receive the error "Invalid Key Codes", it means there is some sort of problem with your license file. If the problem persists, Contact Trimble Transportation Support.

To verify the new licenses have been added, open any other TruckMate program and select About from the Help menu.

The About window for this program is displayed. Click Licenses in the lower right corner.
The complete TruckMate licensing information is displayed.

Close the window.
How to obtain your License Key Information
Your TruckMate licenses keys, site name, etc. are provided when you first purchase TruckMate. If this information is misplaced, you may obtain them again by contacting Trimble Transportation Support.
License Key Reference
TruckMate licenses work on the basis of sessions, rather than on the number of open programs. That is, each user who is logged in to TruckMate takes one license from the available pool, regardless of the number of programs they open. For example, if a user initially logs in to the Customer Service program, then logs in to the AR Inquiry program, one license from the 'Accounting (Standard) Users' pool will be taken. If that user subsequently opens the Dispatch program, the 'Accounting (Standard) Users' license will be released and an 'Operational (Premium) Users' license will be taken. However, if the user subsequently closes the Dispatch program, the license will not be downgraded from the 'Operational (Premium) Users' class to the 'Accounting (Standard) Users' class. Therefore, it is important to ensure you have enough licenses for your site.
| The licensing is allocated based on the User login name and password, as configured in the Security Setup program. Therefore, a user cannot log in to two workstations using the same user name and password. Each user should have a unique user name and password, and must close their session on one workstation before opening a session on another workstation. |
