Rule Grid Definitions
There are several types of rules that can be created for Driver payments:
Pickups and Drops
These rules pay the Driver a flat amount based on the number of pickups and / or the number of drops he makes. These rules can be either 'trip based' (meaning the pickups and drops that occur in the Dispatch program will generate pay) or 'Freight Bill Based' (meaning that the assignment of the Driver as a pickup or delivery Driver in the Customer Service, Quick Bill Entry or Local Dispatch programs will generate pay). Drivers will also be assigned to the Freight Bill based on activity in the Dispatch program.
Percentage
These rules pay the Driver a percentage of the revenue from the assigned Freight Bill. These rules are always 'Freight Bill based'; that is, a pickup and / or delivery Driver must be assigned to the Freight Bill in the Customer Service, Quick Bill Entry or Local Dispatch programs to generate pay. Note that the Dispatch program will assign Drivers to Freight Bills as well. Accessorial charges can now have a rate % applied allowing you to alter Driver rates paid out, as needed.
Mileage
These rules pay the Driver a set rate for each empty and / or loaded mile driven. These rules can be either 'trip based' (meaning that leg mileage in the Dispatch program will generate pay) or 'Freight Bill Based' (meaning that the assignment of the Driver as a pickup or delivery Driver in the Customer Service, Quick Bill Entry or Local Dispatch programs will generate pay, and that the mileage entered for the Freight Bill will be used to calculate the pay).
The Dispatch program will assign Drivers to Freight Bills as well. Now you can pay a Driver based on how much weight is on board, the distance traveled, or a combination of the two. Pay a Driver a different rate depending on if the truck is without a load (empty) or if the truck is without a trailer (bobtail). Furthermore, you can use the Trip’s Start / End Zones regardless if the legs are empty or loaded in the calculations or exclude empty legs and only use loaded legs' Start / End Zones. To use trip’s Start / End Zones, set the option in Application Configurator > Driver Pay > PAYCON.EXE - 'Use Trip’s Start / End Zone in Millage Pay Rules' to 'True'. |
Units
These rules pay the Driver according to the number of a specific unit (ie, pounds, pallets, pieces, etc) entered on the detail lines of the Freight Bill.
Surcharge
These rules pay the Driver based on any extra Surcharges that may have been accrued during the course of the Contract. These rules can be either 'Trip based', or based on Fuel Surcharges.
Trip
These rules pay the Driver based on a variety of Trip details.
Group Min
These rules define the Minimum Trip details for the a selected Group.
Container Inventory
These rules pay the Driver a flat rate based on what is being hauled in the Container. This tab takes into account the Intermodal InGate and OutGate values to determine the Driver Pay.
