Setup menu

This topic describes the available options under the Setup menu. Options are listed in the order they appear on the menu.

Depending on your application permissions, you may not see all menu options listed in this section. For details, see your company’s system administrator.

Page description

Use the Diagnostic Definitions page to develop diagnostics for routine maintenance tasks. You can create a standard set of diagnostics at the Unit ID, Fleet Description, or Unit Type level for a selected Component Code. You also have the option to associate the definition to a specific Complaint code.

Order Setup: Job Code Definitions

Creating a Job Code allows you to establish baseline hours for an activity. Job codes include a Component Code and a Complaint Code. However, complaint codes are not required.

Page description

Many types of repairs require a set amount of parts to perform a repair. A typical example of this is preventive maintenance repairs. Though a mechanic may use additional parts for the repair, there is always a minimum amount of parts used consistently. The Pick List Definition page lets you create a list of parts and assign the list to a Component Code, Unit ID, Fleet Description, Unit Type, and Correction Code.

Page description

A standard service line represents a repetitive charge. You use it to reduce the time it takes to add the charge to repair orders. Instead of typing the charge’s description on the repair order, you select it from a list.

Prior to selecting a standard service line on a repair order, you must first create the standard service record using the Standard Services page.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requires annual inspections of certain equipment and systems for critical maintenance items. In addition, there may be other inspections required at the state level.

The inspections often determine necessary repairs to a unit. Use the Inspection Ticket Setup page to create a list of inspections to perform.

You can sort the Units of Measure by category such as Distance, Quantity, Volume, etc. Each category must have a base Unit of Measure with a factor of 1 and a constant of 0. You use these factors and constants to convert between different units.
