Units

These settings are located in the Units section on the Application Options page. To open the Application Options page, go to Menu > Setup > Options > Application Options.

Allow Duplicate Serial Numbers (VIN) For Units

Applies to

TMT Fleet Maintenance

Description

More than one unit can have a value in the VIN/Serial No. field that is the same as another unit.

Options

  • NO (default)
    On unit creation or unit on the fly unit creation, the value entered in the VIN/Serial No. field will be checked against other units in the database. If there is a duplicate, the message VIN / Serial Number is not Unique, please enter a Unique VIN / Serial Number will be displayed and the value entered in the VIN / Serial No. field will be erased.

  • YES
    More than one unit can have a value in the VIN/Serial No. field that is the same as another unit.

Additional notes

This will also include units with blank VIN numbers, so if this option is turned on, and you have units with blank VIN numbers, you will not be able to create a new unit with a blank VIN number.

Description

This will allow more than one customer to have the same unit number.

    Unit numbers must be unique.

Purge Lat/Long Records Without Orders Older Than X Days

Description

This option determines if the program deletes latitude and longitude records.

Options

  • 0 (default)

    The system does not purge records.

  • User-specified number of days.

    Enter a number between 1 and 999. The system deletes the latitude and longitude records older than the number of days you enter.

Asset Number

Applies to

TMT Fleet Maintenance

Description

A vehicle Asset Number (found on the Masters > Units > Misc tab) can be entered in the unit field and the system will bring back the actual unit number matching the asset number in the unit master.

Options

  • NO (default)
    Asset number autocross is turned off.

  • YES
    Asset number autocross is turned on.

Additional notes

If more than one unit master has the same Asset Number assigned the system will display a pop-up of all unit numbers sharing the Asset Number where the correct unit can be highlighted and accepted.

Dedicated Unit Number

Description

A dedicated unit number (found on the Masters > Units > Misc tab) can be entered in the unit field and the system will bring back the actual unit number matching the dedicated unit number in the unit master.

    Dedicated unit number autocross is turned off.

  • YES
    Dedicated unit number autocross is turned on.

Additional notes

The Dedicated Unit Number autocross must be unique per unit in the system.

License Number

Description

A vehicle license number (found on the Masters > Units > Definition tab) can be entered in the unit field and the system will bring back the actual unit number matching the license plate number in the unit master.

    License number autocross is turned off.

    License number autocross is turned on.

If more than one unit master has the same License Plate Number assigned the system will display a pop-up of all unit numbers sharing the License Plate Number where the correct unit can be highlighted and accepted.

Prefix

Applies to

Description

This option allows you to enter a Prefix (found on the Masters > Units > Misc tab) and the unit number to return a specific unit number. For example, if you set the Prefix to 41 and the Unit Number is 3000, then the user is able to either enter 3000 or 41-3000 in any Unit Search Field. The search returns unit 3000.

    Prefix autocross is turned off.

  • YES
    Prefix autocross is turned on.

Description

A complete vehicle VIN number can be entered in the unit field and the system will bring back the actual unit number matching the VIN number in the unit master.

  • NO
    VIN autocross is turned off.

  • YES (default)
    VIN autocross is turned on.

Additional notes

If more than one unit master has the same License Plate Number assigned the system will display a pop-up of all unit numbers sharing the License Plate Number where the correct unit can be highlighted and accepted.

If the option Allow Duplicate Serial Numbers (VIN) For Units is set to No, the VIN number becomes unique to the unit in the system. A BLANK VIN cannot be duplicated if this option is set to No.

Unit Dispatch Status

Applies to

Description

Sub-options will be available.

With sub-options also marked as Yes, if the Unit has an Estimate, Repair Order (RO) or Vendor Repair Order (VRO) in an OPEN status, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Unavailable and Out of Service (OOS).

If the Estimate, RO or VRO status is changed to COMPLETE, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Available for Dispatch Service.

  • NO (default)
    Sub-options will not be available.

  • YES
    Sub-options will be available.

Estimate Sets Unit Out of Service

Applies to

Description

When the Unit has an Estimate in an OPEN status, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Unavailable and Out of Service (OOS).

If the Estimate status is changed to COMPLETE, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Available for Dispatch Service.

  • NO (default)
    Estimates do not set units Out of Service.

  • YES
    Estimates set units Out of Service.

This option is dependent on the option Unit Dispatch Status being marked as Yes.

Inspection Ticket With Critical Issue Sets Unit Out of Service

Applies to

Description

When the Unit has an Inspection Ticket with an item marked as Critical, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Unavailable and Out of Service (OOS).

If an order is created from the Inspection Ticket unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Available for Dispatch Service.

Options

  • NO (default)
    Inspection tickets with critical issues do not set units Out of Service.

  • YES
    Inspection tickets with critical issues set units Out of Service.

This option is dependent on the option Unit Dispatch Status being marked as Yes.

IWS Login To Repair Order Sets Unit Out of Service

Applies to

Description

When the IWS User logs into a Repair Order (RO), the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Unavailable and Out of Service (OOS).

When the IWS User logs off the RO as COMPLETE, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Available for Dispatch Service.

  • NO (default)
    IWS login to ROs do not set units Out of Service.

  • YES
    IWS login to ROs set units Out of Service.

Repair Order Sets Unit Out of Service

Description

When the Unit has a Repair Order (RO) in an OPEN status, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Unavailable and Out of Service (OOS).

If the RO status is changed to COMPLETE, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Available for Dispatch Service.

    ROs do not set units Out of Service.

  • YES
    ROs set units Out of Service.

Description

When the Unit has a Vendor Repair Order (VRO) in an OPEN status, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Unavailable and Out of Service (OOS).

If the VRO status is changed to COMPLETE, the unit master is updated to indicate the unit is Available for Dispatch Service.

  • NO (default)
    VROs do not set units Out of Service.

  • YES
    VROs set units Out of Service.
