Repair order setup

Before you create repair orders, you should set up the core items used with them.

Field Definition

Diagnostic Definitions

Used to develop diagnostics for routine maintenance tasks

You can create a standard set of diagnostics for a component code. Diagnostics can be at any of these levels:

  • Unit ID

  • Fleet description

  • Unit type-level

To tailor a diagnostic definition to a specific correction code, you can select the applicable correction code.

Diagnostic Definitions provide a way to type and track PM checklists or other information that may be tied directly to a component code.

See Diagnostic Definitions for details.

Job Code Definitions

Used to establish baseline hours for activities

The activity is made up of the component code and complaint code.

Job Codes can be assigned to:

  • Shops and units

  • Shops and fleets

  • Shops and unit types

  • Shops

See Job Code Definitions for details.

Pick List Definitions

Used to set up a list of parts for a specific maintenance event

You can also assign the list to a component code, unit ID, fleet description, unit type, and correction code. When a repair order is created for a unit that matches the assignment criteria, a pick list is displayed on the repair order.

See Pick List Definitions for details.

Standard Services

Standard Services represent a repetitive charge. They reduce the time it takes to add repetitive charges to repair orders. Instead of typing the charge’s description on the repair order, you can select it from a list.

See Standard Services for details.
