Parts Workstation

These settings are located in the Parts Workstation section on the Application Options page. To open the Application Options page, go to Menu > Setup > Options > Application Options.

Parts Workstation
Allow Parts To Be Moved To Pending Orders

Description

This option determines whether users can move parts to pending ROs when trying to close an RO with parts on order.

Options

  • NO
    Repair orders cannot be closed if parts are on order.

  • YES (default)
    The repair order can be closed if parts are on order, but not if the parts are on request. Users can move the parts on order to a pending RO.

Additional notes

This option can be overridden at the Shop Options level.

The system looks for the setting at the Shop Options level first, then at the Application Options level.

If the Shop Options is set differently from the Application Options, it becomes independent of the Application Options. Changing the Application Options does not sync the Shop Options.

Print Reserved Part Tag On Part Receipt

Description

The system will print a Reserved Part Tag when receiving items that are associated with a Pending Order.

Options

  • NO
    System barcoding options apply.

  • YES (default)
    Reserved Part Tags print when receiving items that are associated with a Pending Order.

Additional notes

  1. This option works in conjunction with Allow Items To Be Moved To Pending Orders.

  2. This option can be overridden at the Shop Options level.

  3. The system looks for the setting at the Shop Options level first, then at the Application Options level.

  4. If the Shop Options is set differently from the Application Options, it becomes independent of the Application Options. Changing the Application Options does not sync the Shop Options.

Use Parts Workstation For Parts Requests

Description

The Parts Workstation module will be activated. Parts Workstation will be used to fill all parts requests created from Interactive WorkStation and repair order Pick Lists.

  • Interactive Workstation - This will change the Part Request button so that parts can be requested by Description, Part ID, or Component Code.

  • Pick Lists - When sections are created on repair orders if a pick list is associated with the component code the system will prompt for those parts to be added to the Parts Workstation requisitions for the repair shop and repair order. If the repair order option Show Pick List Prompt is unchecked (No), the parts will be automatically added to the Parts Workstation requisition without any prompt. The repair order option will only be visible if Parts Workstation is in use.

    Part requests are populated to the Manual Requisition section of the Requisition List.

  • YES
    Part requests are populated to the Requests view of Parts Workstation

  1. Currently, the Show Pick List Prompt option is only available in the Client Server access as a repair order search screen User Option.

Show Pick List Prompt On Repair Order

Description

  • If set to Yes, when a section is added to a repair order that has a pick list associated with it, a prompt will appear asking to create a parts request for the parts on the pick list. If set to No, the parts request will be created automatically and there will be no prompt. The parts request created will be accessible from Parts Workstation.

Options

  • NO (default)
    Part requests are populated to the Manual Requisition section of the Requisition List.

  • YES
    Part requests are populated to the Requests view of Parts Workstation.

Additional notes

  1. This option is only available if the option Use Parts Workstation for Parts Requests is set to Yes.

  2. Pick List Item Requisitions are visible from Parts Workstation, the View Parts Requests in Mechanic Workstation, and the View Items on Order option on the repair order.

  3. This option can be overridden at the Shop Options level.
