Managing reports

After you create and save a report, you can manage it in any of the following ways:

  • Edit and save changes

  • Create a copy

  • Rename a report

  • Publish a report to the main menu

    Note: When you publish a report to the main menu, the system:

    • Saves the report

    • Creates a dynamic shared report that can be accessed as a menu option.

      This allows users to view the most up-to-date information, but not make changes in the Report Palette section.

Saving changes to a report

After you save a report for the first time, use the Save command to save changes to the report.

Do not use this option if you want to rename the report, change the description, or change the roles. Instead, use the Save As command.

To save changes, follow these steps.

  1. Go to Menu > Reveal.Business Reporting > Data Warehouse Explorer.
    The Data Warehouse page opens.

    If you are already working on a report, go to Step 3.

  2. Load the report you want to update.

  3. Make changes to the report as needed.

  4. Click Save.
    The system saves your changes.

Copying a report

You can use the Save As command to copy a saved report.

To copy a report, follow these steps.

  1. Go to Menu > Reveal.Business Reporting > Data Warehouse Explorer.
    The Data Warehouse page opens.

  2. Load the report you want to copy.

  3. Click Save As.
    The Save Report As window opens.

  4. Enter the new report’s name in the Name field.

  5. Make changes as needed in the Description and Roles sections.

  6. Click Save.

    Notes:

    1. If you click Publish, the system saves the report and creates a shared report.

    2. If you do not want to save your report, click image1 Close to close the window.

Renaming a report

After you save a report, you can use the Save As command to rename it.

To rename a report, follow these steps.

  1. Go to Menu > Reveal.Business Reporting > Data Warehouse Explorer.
    The Data Warehouse page opens.

  2. Load the report you want to rename.

  3. Click Save As.
    The Save Report As window opens.

  4. Enter the report’s new name in the Name field.

  5. Click Rename.

Deleting a report

To delete a report, follow these steps.

  1. Go to Menu > Reveal.Business Reporting > Data Warehouse Explorer.
    The Data Warehouse page opens.

  2. Load the report you want to delete.

  3. Click Delete.
    A Delete Report confirmation message appears.

  4. Click Yes.
    A confirmation message is displayed and the report is removed from the list.
