Managing eStat features

eStat® enables your company to allow your customers or agents to submit, or tender, available loads on a secure Internet site. It allows a private network for viewing tendered loads and tracking their progress through your dispatch system.

When the eStat license is applied to your database, customers and agents can post their shipments and review their listings on eStat’s load board pages. These postings are available to your dispatchers in the Trip Folder for acceptance and assignment to resources.

You must determine how your company wants your customers to use eStat, and set up the features they use to best suit your needs. The general process you will follow when setting up eStat is outlined below. The links direct you to the help for the specific tasks.

  1. Set up the basic Web application.

  2. Identify your company contacts.

When setting up eStat, you will want to ensure that users know who to contact for technical support and who in your company should be notified when new shipments are tendered.

  3. Set up event notifications and logs.

You can configure eStat to automatically generate an e-mail notification each time a specific event occurs (for example, each time a customer tenders a shipment).

  4. Set up the Tender Shipment page.

    • Your customers submit their order information on the Tender Shipment page. To help eliminate data entry errors, you can set up default values for much of the information the customer must enter, such as reference number types, event types, contacts, and the unit of measure for commodity weight, volume, and quantity.

    • You also can control how users select companies as the order’s Bill To, Order By, and pickup and drop locations.

    • You can determine whether tendered shipments are immediately added to your dispatch system as available loads or if they should be reviewed first.

  5. Set up shipment tracking.

    • Your customers track their shipments on load board pages. A default view for each load board comes pre-loaded in eStat. It cannot be deleted. However, you can define your own views for each load board by setting restrictions (filters), making columns visible or hidden, and modifying column heading names.

    • Your customers can select to view a map for any order. ALK® Maps is a JavaScript API used within Trimble Web Products to generate trip information on a graphical map. Map icons show locations of resources, stops, companies, and check calls.

    • When customizing load boards, you can allow users to view a summary of each completed order’s commodities and events, instead of just a listing of completed loads. You can also allow them to see check calls associated with their orders.

  6. Manage eStat’s fuel offerings.

eStat and Trimble Transportation’s Fuel TMS modules allow you to provide your fuel customers access to features designed to meet their specific needs.

    • Fuel order entry

When the ESFUEL and FuelDispatch licenses are applied to your database, your customers can submit their fuel order information on the Fuel Order Entry page. The page provides an order entry form tailored for fuel orders. Orders will be available for dispatch in your Fuel Dispatch application.

Note: You can have different settings for fuel orders than for orders submitted from the Tender Shipment page. eStat provides a separate set of configuration settings for the Fuel Order Entry page.

    • Tank readings

When the ESFUEL and InventoryServices licenses are applied to your database, your customers can:

Readings feed into your Inventory Services application, where they provide data to the order forecaster.

  7. Manage eStat’s crude offerings.

eStat and Trimble Transportation’s crude module allow you to provide your crude customers access to features designed to meet their specific needs. When the ESTATCRUDE license is applied to your database, users can enter orders with any of the following pages:

    • Crude Order Entry
On the Crude Order Entry page, users can enter crude orders with commodities from one or more shipper tanks.

    • Crude Mass Order Entry
The Crude Mass Order Entry page allows users to enter a large number of crude orders at once. They can specify multiple shippers and consignees.

    • Crude Order Import
On the Crude Order Import page, users can import orders that are located in a preformatted file. Once imported, they can review and correct any errors.

Note: You can have different settings for crude orders than for orders submitted from the Tender Shipment and Fuel Order Entry pages. eStat provides a separate set of configuration settings for the crude order entry pages.
