Redirecting the user to a custom online help

Trimble Web Products comes with a built-in online help system. If you want to redirect users to your own custom help system, follow these steps.

To change the help only for a selected page, see Providing customized help topics.
  1. Go to Menu > Configuration > Settings Manager.
    The Settings Manager page opens.

  2. Verify [Global Settings] is the value in the Role field.

You must be in Global Settings mode to edit these settings.

  3. Click these tabs: General > Core > Misc Info.

  4. In the Misc Info 3 section, make changes in the following fields.

    Field Definition

    Help URL

If you want to re-direct users to an alternate help system or document, enter the valid absolute URL address of the page.

    Help Manager URL

This field allows the Trimble Web Products context-sensitive help. If you directed users to an alternate help system or document, the entry in this field is not functional.

    XML Mapping Filename

This field identifies the file (topics.xml) the Trimble Web Products context-sensitive help uses to link the current page to the correct topic. If you directed users to an alternate help system or document, the entry in this field is not functional.

  5. Click Save.
A message appears at the top of the page, stating your settings were saved successfully.
