Dashboard Builder administrator overview

Dashboard Builder is an Integrated Business Intelligence platform that removes barriers to your data for faster, better business decisions.

Dashboard Builder dashboards can display:

  • Data Warehouse reports

  • SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) reports

  • Crystal Reports

  • Hyperlinks to other URLs

  • Customizable labels or text

You must determine how your company wants to use Dashboard Builder, and set up the features to best suit your needs. The general process you will follow when setting up Dashboard Builder is outlined below. Each link directs you to the help topic for the specific task.   1. Set up the basic Web application.

  2. Configure Dashboard Builder settings.

    • Limit the number of templates per dashboard
      Set the number of templates (panels) allowed per dashboard. The maximum number of templates supported by Dashboard Builder is 22.

    • Enable Crystal Reports
      If needed, enable Crystal Reporting and specify the location of the Crystal Report JavaScript file.

    • Set a default dashboard publication location
      Specify the default menu location where dashboards are published.

  3. Link Crystal Reports to Dashboard Builder.

  4. Manage dashboards.
